Add images or pictures
You can add images (pictures) to your pages, to make them more interesting to read.
Note that all images below are taken from a standard Plone website - your website may have a different look, so the images are only a guide, they may not be exact.
1. First, you need to create or find the image that you want to add to the page (remember to consider copyright issues if you do not create the image yourself). Use either jpg format or png (png files are generally smaller for the same quality). It needs to be accessible from your PC - you need to be able to browse to the file using Explorer.
2. We recommend that you keep all images in the Images folder we created for you, with folders within Images for each page. The instructions for this are here.
3. Put the cursor where you want to add the image on the page.
4. Click the image button in the header.
5. Click on Home in the first column in the dialog that appears.
6. Scroll down to Images in the second column and click that.
7. Select the image that you want to add to the page from the list. (You may have to go down into a Folder first).
8. Remember that search engines cannot see images, so you need to put a good description of the image in the Text equivalent box.
9. Click Ok.
10. Check that the size it displays in the page is what you want, by clicking somewhere else on the page.
If it needs to be bigger or smaller:
a. Highlight the image.
b. Choose a different option from the Size setting.
c. Click Ok.
11. When all changes have been made, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
